Munich – (MunichNOW News) – On a sunny Bavarian Saturday afternoon, a local team from VoteFromAbroad.com answered questions and provided information on how to register and vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election on November 3rd.

There are as many as 8 million Americans living outside of America, and more than that 3 million have the right to vote in the U.S. National Elections. In an effort to reach these voters, groups like VoteFromAbroad.com they invest tremendous educational efforts and conduct voter registration around the world to add these voters to the registration lists.

The VFA table in Munich today was just one of 28 such tables in 28 cities, towns and villages across Germany today. This will continue on Saturday until just before the election.

Democrat overseas chair Candice Kerestan noted that there has been a significant increase in voter registration as more people begin to adjust in the upcoming election as summer draws to a close and life returns to normal even with constant Covid-19 restrictions. “We provide support to voters as much as we now had the first registrations. “Helping voters confirm their registrations and get and vote for their ballots,” she added.

VFA volunteer Heather Storm still sees Americans surprised to be able to vote while living here. “It seems that everyone is so happy that we are here to help them in the process so that they can participate in the domestic elections. “Most feel a real sense of urgency to run in the November 3 election,” she said.

“Many of the people I spoke to have lived here for a long time without paying much attention to US life or politics, perhaps now more German than American. However, the current situation in the United States has brought many who lived here “under the radar” into a more active role. They want to vote and they really appreciate our help in starting the process, ”said volunteer Emily Froemel.
