According to the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, the new high-speed metro line connecting the city with Istanbul Airport will be completed and open for use by the end of April next year.

Adil Karaismailoglu spoke after inspecting the ongoing metro line construction site and confirming that the first part of the project is nearing completion. The line will also be the fastest metro currently in Turkey, operating at an impressive speed of just under 75 miles per hour for quick access through the city.
Where will the metro pass in Istanbul?
The metro line will pass through various central and residential districts of Istanbul, including the sought-after areas of Besiktas, Sisli, Kagithane, Eyup and Armavutkoy. It is anticipated that the train will be used daily by up to 600,000 Istanbul residents. The traffic load in Istanbul is expected to be significantly reduced after the metro starts operating fully.
